Zekiel is studying Animal Studies and Creative Writing (Class of 2028). With around five years of reptile-keeping experience, they combine personal husbandry knowledge with research in cognition, welfare, and behavior.

At the HERP Lab, Zekiel has worked extensively with BORIS, coding behaviors in leopard geckos and bearded dragons. They are currently leading the design and implementation of an object discrimination study for crested geckos and have also contributed to the iNaturalist project.
